Insects Exhibition of the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
This is a field guide to the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve,which is located in La Jolla and Del Mar, California, north of San Diego. I'll be focusing on insects that often seen in Torrey Pines.
Spittle Bugs
Cercopidae are the largest family of Cercopoidea, a xylem-feeding insect group, commonly called froghoppers . They belong to the hemipteran suborder Auchenorrhyncha. Okanagana vanduzeei
A hairy species with pale marks limited to the wings and apex of the head. Their behavior is often unpredictable because they always fly away. They can be loud.
