This is a field guide to the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve,which is located in La Jolla and Del Mar, California, north of San Diego. I'll be focusing on insects that often seen in Torrey Pines.
Cercopidae are the largest family of Cercopoidea, a xylem-feeding insect group, commonly called froghoppers . They belong to the hemipteran suborder Auchenorrhyncha.
