The Earthwatch Urban Forest Program aims to increase awareness of the value of urban forests by engaging people in the collection of scientific data that will contribute to local authority environmental management plans and scientific research.
Data to be collected includes:
identifying the tree species, measuring the trunk diameter at breast height, recording the GPS location of each tree, and observing other characteristics of the tree.
