A catalog of the Crayfish species of Georgia. Cambaridae is, thus far, the only family of Crayfish in Georgia. Note: Blacknose Crayfish (Procambarus leonensis) has not been found in Georgia yet but has been recorded very close to the Florida/Georgia state line. Sandhills Crayfish (Procambarus angustatus) was collected two times. LeConte gave the location as "Georgia Inferior" rather than a precise location and has not been found since. It is possible this species is now extinct. Prickly Cave Crayfish (Cambarus hamulatus) has not been added to this guide since it has not been found in Georgia but it does occur in limestone caves of the Cumberland Plateau in neighboring Alabama and Tennessee
