Wildflowers of Central Virginia

This guide is a working list of wildflowers found around the Farmville area of central Virginia. The list includes mostly common, small to large herbaceous plants that flower at some time throughout the year and excludes most vines, shrubs, and trees. The guide area currently encompasses the counties of Appomattox, Buckingham, Cumberland, Amelia, Nottoway, Lunenburg, Charlotte, and Prince Edward. Most species can be found within a 30 minute drive from the town of Farmville. This list was created using photos and notes taken by local naturalists (and consulting the "Flora of Virginia") and is far from finished, so email Evan Spears for suggestions and guide updates: e3spears@gmail.com
