The Kalalau Trail is a must-see spot on the Island of Kauai. A favorite of tourists, the trail offers sweeping views of the ocean and beautiful movements through numerous valleys. This guide is intended to help tourists recognize some of the most exciting species, and learn a bit more about them. The trail offers two day hikes: 4 mile loop to HANAKAPI'AI Beach or the 8 mile (rugged) hike to HANAKOA Falls. The full trail is 11 miles each direction and requires special permits to hike.
