These stars are typically found at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve during a good low tide. Most commonly seen are the ochre star, bat star and leather star. A good low tide will reveal the Giant Pink star and Giant sea star (more commonly seen in the Frenchman's Reef area). The sunflower star has not been seen in this area in years due to the seastar wasting disease. Look for ochre stars near mussel beds, under ledges and in cracks and crevices of rocks. Six-rayed stars and the Henricia star are quite small, usually 2" in diameter or less and vary widely in color.
