Flowering Plants of UCLA

This is a collection of the common cultivated and non-cultivated plants on campus. The vast majority of species on campus are cultivated and should be marked as cultivated when submitting to iNaturalist.

I have tried to bring the most commonly observed species up to the front of the guide. For some of these species I've added some notes on where they are commonly observed.

This list is taken from the complete list of vascular plants compiled by Mildred E. Mathias and expanded and curated by Wayne Dollase (https://www.botgard.ucla.edu/campus-plants/).

I had to split the full list up into flowering and non-flowering guides because there were too many species to fit in one guide.

Note that observations of these species may not necessarily be displayed in the species information page. This is because iNaturalist does not import observations of cultivated species into the guides.

In some restoration areas (Stone Canyon Creek, Sage Hill) it may be difficult to tell what's being cultivated and what's natural.
