This is a list of woody plants (non-herbaceous) that have been documented growing within Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In the urban environment there are an abundance of exotic and cultivar species (some of which iNaturalist does not recognize).
This list was compiled by the famous Calgary naturalist Gus Yaki and is a product of the efforts of some of Calgary's most dedicated naturalists. By no means is this complete and we are working to refine it.
This guide is intended to help educate people on the types of Woody Plants which exist in Calgary. Plants listed also include indoor botanicals of high-value (ex. Calgary zoo conservatory, downtown gardens, Reader Rock Garden).
