Vascular Plants of Calgary

The attached list is of vascular plants that are noted in the “Calgary’s Natural Areas” book that was edited by Harold Pinel and published through Calgary Field Naturalists' Society in 1980. Common names have been referenced to ACIMS 2015 list of Alberta's Vascular plants.

This list is not complete as names have changed since 1980. In this regards there are a number of plants listed in the book that do not appear on the vascular plant list (ACIMS 2015).

The book also lists the mosses, fungi, Butterflies and the vertebrates that were known for Calgary at that time. These will are to be sorted into various Field Guides to assist in documenting Calgary's biodiversity.
