Marine Biodiversity in the Gulf of Thailand

This guide was started in order to give some information about the marine biodiversity in the gulf of Thailand. Increasingly, the region has to cope with effects of climate change, tourism, industrialization and agriculture.

Giant Clam

The giant clam, Tridacna gigas (known as pā’ua in Cook Islands Māori), is a clam that is the largest living bivalve mollusk. T. gigas is one of the most endangered clam species.
