Marine Biodiversity in the Gulf of Thailand
This guide was started in order to give some information about the marine biodiversity in the gulf of Thailand. Increasingly, the region has to cope with effects of climate change, tourism, industrialization and agriculture.
Jacks and pompanos
The Carangidae are a family of fish which includes the jacks, pompanos, jack mackerels, runners, and scads.
Blacktip grouper
Epinephelus fasciatus, commonly called Blacktip grouper or Redbanded grouper among various other vernacular names, is a species of marine fish in the family Serranidae.
Giant Moray
The giant moray (Gymnothorax javanicus) is a species of moray eel found at reefs in the Indo-Pacific. In terms of body mass, it is the largest moray eel (the slender giant moray is longer).
Moon Wrasse
The moon wrasse, Thalassoma lunare, is a species of wrasse native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It is an inhabitant of coral reefs and surrounding areas at depths from 1 to 20 m (3.3 to 66 ft). Roundface Batfish
Platax teira, also known as the teira batfish, longfin batfish, longfin spadefish, or round faced batfish is a fish from the Indo-West Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 60 cm (24 in) in length.
Bluering Angelfish
The bluering angelfish (Pomacanthus annularis) is an angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, found in the Indo-West Pacific oceans from East Africa, throughout Indonesia and New Guinea to New Caledonia, north to southern Japan.

Caesio xanthonota, also known as the Yellowback fusilier , is a pelagic marine fish belonging to the family Caesionidae.
Barracudas
The barracuda is a ray-finned fish known for its large size and fearsome appearance. Its body is long, fairly compressed, and covered with small, smooth scales. Indo-Pacific Sergeant Major
The Indo-Pacific sergeant may also be known as the Sergeant major although this name is usually reserved for the closely related species Abudefduf saxatilis.
