Found this mushroom in a neighborhood near the UTRGV campus. Used the spores to inoculate corn seeds in the UTRGV 3 sisters plot.
On pine tree.
The diameter of pileus is around 2cm. It was found on the ground where had lots of dead leaves. The weather was above 70 Fahrenheit and sunny and humid.
This fungi is growing off the side of a dead/wilted tree log. This fungi was growing in a group along the tree log.
Young specimen found in Live oak leaf litter during a hike at Pace Bend Park. Presence of an annular ring and volva indicate genus Amanita, while coloration and location lead me to believe this is bisporigera.
