Description

California Harebell (Smithiastrum prenanthoides) Genus name changed, it was formerly called Campanula prenanthoides. Native, perennial plant in the Bellflower (Campanulaceae) family that grows in redwood forests. Leaves are lanceolate to ovate and coarsely serrated. Flowers are lavender-blue and pendulous. Tips of petals curl upward. Sepals are spreading to reflexed. Peak bloom time: June-September.
