Description

Irdaceae Sisrinchium rosulatum

S. rosulatum

T6 3 /1 (3 carpels)

Monocot, herbaceous, perianth present, terrestrial, bisexual, pistils 1/flower, ovary inferior, actinomorphic, stamens 3, perianth glabrous, Iridaceae, perianth 1-2 cm long, Sisyrinchium, stems unbranched: no more information given in the book because it is not in it. However, I did find a couple of these at Booker T state park. I used the Tennessee-Kentucky Plant Atlas to help me figure out what it was once I got to the genus because the species, S. rosulatum, is in it. It also showed that it can be found in a couple different counties in Tennessee and one of them is nearby.

Herb. Simple, alternate, sheathed leaves. Leaves are linear

Found at Booker T. Washington State Park. Make a right to go into the first parking lot. Drive straight to the back where the Nature Trail sign in. The plants were about 20 feet directly to the right of the sign on the other side of the actual trail entrance
