I am curious if there is enough in this single picture to confirm this is a Pale-faced Clubskimmer Brechmorhoga mendax. September 9th Morton County Kansas (far southwest). Reading through Smith and Patton's Dragonflies at a Biological Crossroads and Paulson's Dragonflies and Damselflies of the West I believe it is. This species is already on the Kansas list, but hasn't had any user submitted records to OC.
I watched it patrol a relatively small area with a large mixed swarm of Wandering and Spot-winged Gliders, Common Green Darners, and many Vareigated Meadowhawks. This single picture was one of three I got off using the (1) pick a distant object to focus camera on and (2) snap a picture when the patrolling ode is close to object.
