This is the third Inaturalist post of the species in all of New England. If you've ever wondered how small it is and how difficult to find, these photos should give you some idea. Although I was the lead in the survey, these plants were spotted by the sharp eyes of Emily M. who is working on surveys for this species funded by a grant from New England Botanical Society.
Pedicularis?
First pic shows the capsule, which is pretty distinctive. Second pic shows the same pogonia at top next to cucumber root below, showing how insanely similar they are.
