This bird was found in the surrounding neighborhoods near where I live in Tampa, Florida. There is a golf course and many lakes near this area. There are many birds who roam around the area. The bird was taller than most birds, had a white body, and an orange-yellow beak. The bird had a long curved neck and skinny legs.
To identify this bird as a great heron, I used the website, https://www.blog.catandturtle.net/backyard-bird-identification/. In this website, it stated that Great Egrets are found near ponds and similar bodies of water and have sharp beaks. The colors of the bird I observed versus the colors of Great Egrets were exactly the same.
