What

American Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans)

Observer

loctran

Date

September 15, 2018 05:27 PM EDT

Description

Date: Sep. 15th, 2018
Time: ~ 5:30pm
Location: Lettuce Lake Park
Habitat: Woods (limited in park area)
Weather: Sunny, clear skies
Angiosperm

Although this plant did not have any flowers at the time it was captured, the shape of the leaves, the vines from which it was growing on as well as additional information from the park rangers helped me to to identify this as a Trumpet vine. It is named the way it is because the flowers it produces are in the shape of a trumpet. The leaves have lots of "teeth" on them.
