Found by a turnout on hwy 20
At Pepperwood Preserve, out in the grasslands, I found this small-ish purple flower. At the top, there was more than one flower, but the stem was small and skinny. It was somewhere where the sun hit easily, and there was a few different stalks in the same place. I found a couple of these spread out threw the grasslands in Pepperwood
Found in grassy area with a lot of different flowers. The petal was soft and the stem was rough. It has 6 leaves.
Observed growing on a steep hillside in association with Mimulus aurantiacus, Artemisia californica , Baccharis pilularis,Quercus agrifolia, and lots of Poison oak.
The bug was found in a moist hole not under a rock or anything just in a hole. it was dark brown with black stripes it was about the size of my index finger. it was difficult to cath it would try to retreat deeper into its hole.
The Potato bug that I saw at Annadel was very big. It had an orange-brownish color to it. The head had a carmel color and the rest of the body looked like a striped sort of pattern. It has six legs. It also had antennas and it was very big. not what I expected a potato bug would look like.
Found under a log.
Was near a ant's nesting place.
Burrowed itself into the dirt when frightened.
Found in a field under a rock.
The cricket was lying in the path next to Kelly Pond.
This cricket was found in the weeds and rocks. The body was very thick and baout 1 inch in length. The legs were longer on this cricket. The color was a kind of glossy burnt brown color with some black on it.
brown, very scaley looking. The unsect kept squirming for freedom. Found under a rock in the feild neer my house.
Its light brown with dark brown circles around the body. Has a strong peek for protection and breaking down its food. Its body is hard and solid.
