Black six-legged bug with faint striped pattern on the lower half of its back. Two antenna towards the front of its head. Found on the deck of Puerto Guadal Permaculture School.
Nalca. Very very large leaves with thick and spiky stem. Leaves look rough with 5 branches coming out it the stem. Has an edible stem. Large radially aligned flowering body.
Common house plant in Cochrane/Aysén region. Large asymmetric leaves with spiked stems (hairlike in texture) and leaf edges that are red to pink in color. Leaves have a waxy texture with veins branching from the stem. Lives indoors near a window.
Chilean stag beetle found in Cerro Huemules seen on nalca leaf. Found while bushwhacking in a mesophytic transitional forest. Purple in color with iridescent sheen. About 5 cm in length (pretty large beetle). Was moving around when found.
