Oregano also known as origanum or wild marjoram, is usually a small subshrub in mild climates. It can be observed that it has compact oval leaves portraying opposite arrangement and are covered with glandular trichomes. On another note, the young stems can be depicted as square and hairy that become woody as it grows. Its flowers, when present, are small which can be seen in clusters and they are typically white, pink, or faint purple. Additionally, it is recognized as an aromatic perennial herb included in the mint family Lamiaceae.
