Small reptile with brown and gray colors was near some plants. The reptile moved very quickly and made stops to look around, analyzing and listening attentively. I assume that this reptile was a hatchling and its tail was very long with black-gray spots all over its tail and back.
Juvenile Texas Horned Lizard approximately 1" from head to base of tail. No apparent mites or injuries. Placed back in flowerbed. Lower populated area of East Lubbock.
Temporarily captured to observe and make notes but returned to wild. Location marked is aproximate
How do I know if it is a prarie lizard or a Clarke's spiny lizard?
