Penobscot Bike Trail/Pinchot SF
New Year's Day hike with the pup. Saw the largest flock of Black-capped Chickadees I had ever seen. Must have been at least 15 individuals in the flock with only three Tufted Titmice in the mix. I had expected to pick up a bunch of sparrows at this site, which is a shrub/grassland, but nada!
Had a pair of ravens come out and check me out then they went on to check out a bald eagle that was passing over. Came across another chickadee flock, a Northern Cardinal, Song Sparrow, then headed out. About 2 hours out.
