I got my first shot of Canada Geese today. I've seen them around for about a week, and even saw a group flying S of Winnipeg over towards Carman, but did not have a camera at those times. I am not sure where they are finding water - everything here seems to be frozen. Perhaps there is open water on some of the rivers, but I don't know about that yet.
It's a windy, chilly day. Hanging around 0C. The mud along the river was frozen, even though when the sun shines it is quite soft (that bank faces south). The winter is drawn out - the forecast is for -20 in a couple of days. It's tiring.
