Waterhouse Club iNaturalist update

Dear iNaturalist WHC users,

Thank you for your participation in the day at Ngeringa and for embracing this little app and the valuable ID info and data it provides.

You may have noticed Ralph has been busy identifying some of our photos with many of the other ID team. Thank you Ralph for setting up the project and for generously supporting our group with all your IDs and for the weed knowledge you are providing for the wider community.

If it's ok with you all I think we will keep the group for now. I'm enjoying looking at the photos you're putting up. I didn't even know there was such an orchid as a zebra orchid. Thank you Louise.

I'm not sure if you will receive this message so it's a trial. I'm confident with uploading and using the app, but not so with the admin and the many options when using iNaturalist on the computer.

In the future with natural science expeditions we will set up separate projects. In the meantime we can see the extent of our interests and travels. Please feel welcome to share with other WHC members who weren't on the day if they are interested.

This weekend is the The Great Southern BioBlitz for 2022. It will run from October 28th - 31st. Participants in the event will then have a further 14 days to upload and identify all of their observations made during this period to the iNaturalist platform.

To join the project just go to the Projects icon on the far bottom right of iNaturalist. Type Great Southern BioBlitz in the search at the top and it will come up as our WHC project did. Simply press join and all of your records from this Sat - Monday will be recorded for the Greater Adelaide Region, including the Adelaide Hills. Best to get out there on Saturday if you can while the weather lasts.

All the best
Rose
