Located on the eastern edge of the state, Mono County is a stunning region that includes aspects of both the high Sierras and the Great Basin. The dominant feature in the county is Mono Lake, a large saline-soda lake that is world renown as an important staging area for migrating birds. Also found along the eastern slope Sierras are numerous rich riparian zones, isolated mountain ranges, at at their base, sagebrush plains. The following is a collection of all of the plants, animals, and other wildlife I have photographically documented in the county.
