Photos / SoundsWhatSouthern Alligator Lizard (Elgaria multicarinata)ObserverouzelDescriptionA couple grey ticks by its ear. Its narrow head shape suggests female to me. It was motionless in the middle of the trail. One of my dogs spotted it right after we walked by. It did not catch my eye which I thought was interesting. I'm very sensitive to movements and its motionlessness concealed it from my eye. After seeing others mark it as a Southern I reviewed how to distinguish Southern from Northern. Perhaps the bright eye color of this one is the first clue so suggest it's a Southern? |
