These two bodies resemble cocoons, which is what I thought they were, attached to the underside edge of shingles. I turned the photos 180 degrees and lightened them. It was surprising to see that the objects look like tiny dead birds covered in insect eggs or mold. Its a moist environment, woods and pond. The objects are about and inch and a half long. Any ideas? I didn't know where to post this so it would be seen...
