Description

A stand of very young madrones!

Young stand that may have been planted, and is behind a barrier/protective fencing

There were very few madrones on Squak mountain, following May Valley and Phil's Creek trails to the summit. I think this is is important as it may be struggling in this mixed conifer and deciduous forest.

Description

All trees in area had about 5% black leaves mostly on bottom half of tree. None had full branch dieback.

Description

Skin miner submitted as a separate observation. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/154921123 In old burn which has become a stand of mostly stump sprouting madrone that is quite healthy and happy.
