What

Chimney Bellflower (Campanula pyramidalis)

Date

September 7, 2014 12:54 PM CEST

Description

A tall growing species of bellflower which produces hundreds of bright blue flowers during a season.
One or a few plantleys were brought from adriatic coast in Croatia to my home some years ago.
Since they produce uncountable numbers of small seeds, new plants appear every year, they need not to be planted anymore.
The pretty flowers are most attractive to many insects which seem to collect nectar and pollen.
Some will be shown as further observations.

  Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera)
