WhatGray Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)ObserverlindsayaDescriptionThis is the 2nd time I have seen (and reported) a grey fox on this street. Today I spotted it around 9:50pm, similar to the time I had seen it before. There is a stream that runs through this street, with a lot of foliage, bushes, marshes, rocks etc as well as a tunnel the allows the stream to pass underneath the road. The fox was 100% definitely too large to be a house cat and too small to be a wolf, it was about the size of a small-medium dog. The colouring was a mixture of grey, beige, rust colour, with a black stripe on its long tail and pointed ears. It appeared to be healthy-looking. I was unable to get a picture of it before it ran off. Besides this region of the street, the rest of the street consists of residential buildings/homes. I have seen homemade 'no dumping' signs in the creek area which may be indicative of individuals littering in this area, which could be concerning for this species. It was not captive or cultivates, just walking around wild. |
