Description

Arctotheca whitey

A beautiful annual with white flowers blowing in the wind heralding the arrival of spring.
We were on time and took some pictures just before the District were about to mow everything away! What a pity and lack of coordination here. By next spring I want to see them seed with the District patiently waiting to only go skoffel after they've set seed. Really sad. These annuals hardly present a hazard to visibility on that open road.

Description

Gladiolus

A flowering bulb. Once collected in a grassy field outside the Paul Sauer Gebou in Stellenbosch, and has now flowered after at least 10 years in a pot after being planted in the ground. That field has now become a carpark for more students.
I forget the specific epithet - it was identified years ago and I cannot locate the old checklist of flora on the field.
It has cup like flowers which face upward.
