Genus DipterostemonObserver
biobabblerDescription
Once again I didn't know there were two spp in this genus in our region. Hope someone out there might know? I did see pics of each spp with some of the petals removed to show structures inside the flower--maybe I need to photograph this in future?

Pipestem Clematis (Clematis lasiantha)Observer
biobabblerDescription
This time Seek got to Clematis, but iNaturalist got to species (with the same photos--albeit Seek crashes ea time I tell it to post the result to iNaturalist, and I'm not convinced Seek's keeping all 3 photos).🤔
Feel free to pipe up if you think it's not Pipestem Clematis.

Many-rooted Earthball (Scleroderma polyrhizum)Observer
biobabblerDescription
Much bigger and rougher looking than our other earth stars. I'm not sure I've ever noticed these before, and there were two within about five feet of one another growing right at the edge of a paved road.

Liver Bolete (Suillellus amygdalinus)Observer
biobabblerDescription
Def looks like a bolete to me, but please correct me if I selected the wrong one. I'm NOT a mycologist, and didn't do a test for blueing after injury, though I could go back & do it if that would help. 😊 Last shot is mushroom next to size 11.5 men's sneakers for scale.
