This is a plant that I found walking on a trail. It has a long stem with stacks of four oval shaped leafs that almost comes directly out of the stem. At the top is four more stems with three leaflets that surrounds a flower-like bud.

This is a plant with clover-like leaves, a fuzzy and long stem, and spiny purple flowers. I found it near a park. There were a lot in the area.

Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope aurantia)Observer

I found this spider while I was somewhere in the woods near Morgan Hill. It is about 3-3 1/2 inches in diameter. It was on its web just sitting there. It didn't seem to be threatened by my pressense.
