This is a first sighting in my yard. Back in the Midwest I saw them all the time, so after living here on Bill Williams Mountain for 8 years I was startled to see a couple this week behind my home. But very happy to see them!

This lizard's body (not with the tail) was about the size of a US half dollar coin. Very small - almost stepped on him on a trail in the Kaibab National Forest near Key Hole Sink, near Parks AZ. This is mountainous area, pine, oak and juniper forest, and elevation is 7,000 feet. I am wondering if this is a Greater Short-horned Lizard
