From Cedra Wood. "It wasn't far enough from the road that I can say it was remote, but it was the only track around at the time (no shoe or car tracks), so an unaccompanied dog....up near the snowline".

This area is at least 2-miles away from the campground and the field station. It is not a place that people typically gather, and it is within about 1/2-mile of a location that recorded video of the Sagehen wolverine in 2016.

Cedra also recorded a howl around the same time.

Description

Recording by Cedra Wood at Sagehen Creek Field Station, CA. The recording is quite faint, so listening with earphones helps.

Cedra also found a big track in a fairly remote area recently.

The wolves are certainly coming (from Lassen), but are they already here?

Multiple male and female black widow spiders under a sheet of metal roofing. Also a couple dozen of these tiny crickets living happily in and around the webs with no indication of problems. Why don't the spiders eat the crickets? They eat bigger prey.
