Description

Shrubs mostly about 13 meters tall. Twigs reddish brown. Catkins collected April 12, 2019, from same marked trees the mature leaves were collected from. Catkins with densely silky ovaries, some with staminate flowers near the tip and sometimes near the base. Trees presumably planted; growing in rows. Growing in a swale that has been a watershed stewardship site (restoration site) since 1996. Next to western parking lot of the park and ride at junction of SW Dosch Rd. and and SW Seymour Dr. Gently sloping, open canopy. Associated species: Populus trichocarpa, Populus sp., Rosa, Crataegus monogyna, Juncus patens, Carex pendula.
