Found in primarily coniferous forest / some birch. Original thought suillus, but cap smooth. So perhaps Boletus speciosus (rare) or Aureoboletus mirabilis? None quite fit with bulbous stalk and environment.

Deceivers (Genus Laccaria)Observer
fungal_w3bkyDescription
I believe these are Laccaria (I had collected this species in this location previously), with some sort of black mildew, versus black mushrooms. Found in a mowed lawn near an old apple tree with apple waste laying about. Spore print is pending.

Common Gilled Mushrooms and Allies (Order Agaricales)Observer
fungal_w3bkyDescription
Found on a mowed lawn near butternut, walnut, and crab apple trees. Brown (chocolate) spore print. 6” Irregular cap tan on top and white and firm flesh / rolled under. Gills brown (see 2nd and 3rd photos) and separate easily from cap flesh, and I believed to be attached to stem (when I tried to open the cap to observe, the stem came off). Stem very short and solid. I do not believe this mushroom had a veil or ring, but I would not rule it out. It did not bleed or exude any fluid when cut, and odor was not notable. Not sure of ID, but matches location, Gill color / attachment, and spore print.

What
Stinking Orange Oyster (Phyllotopsis nidulans)Observer
fungal_w3bkyDescription
Would appreciate suggestions - ID is pure guess. The gills are unique on this specimen - I was expecting white or cream oyster-like gills, but when I flipped it, the gills were noticeably bright orange, and they 'wavy' along the gill length. The cap was smooth and dry with very fine hairs. It appeared white in the forest, but closer examination appears that it may have faded. I did not notice a specific odor, so I ruled out Phyllotopsis nidulans, but the specimens may be dried out? I did not see spores on white or dark paper, which supports the dried out theory, but I also did not observe spores on the dead log where these were attached. It did appear as though they emerged from white cottony or fuzzy fibers.

American Yellow Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria var. guessowii)Observer
fungal_w3bkyDescription
Found on the edge of an apple / pear orchard next to hardwoods / pines. Originally leaned toward A.gemmata, but one reference stated this was a Western US species, and the cap was dry and has regular patches. The margin is radially lined. No staining noted. The stem was white flesh and solid, with concentric bands above the bulb. The top of the stem was tacky, and transferred powdery residue (spores?) onto fingers. Spore print white to cream.
