There is a creek bed behind our house. We let our dog (65 lbs) out in our backyard and my husband noticed an animal in some tall grass, stalking and closing in on our yard. Based on its movements, he thought it was a bobcat, grabbed his binoculars and saw it was a coyote. He called the dog in and the coyote still was approaching and was quite close. He went outside screaming and eventually it moved along but didn't seem to spook or run off quickly. We've seen coyotes back there before but this interaction was much different than what he felt was normal.
