My best guess is that they are either Harlequin Bugs (Murgantia histrionica) or Bagrada Bugs (Bagrada hilaris), or one of each. They were on Bladder Pod (Isomeris arborea).

Southern California Walnut (Juglans californica)Observer

Edited: In a backyard adjacent to Bellevue Recreation Center (BRC). Saw another individual in a neighboring backyard adjacent to BRC. In the past, have seen fruit on this and the other walnut tree, including an eastern fox squirrel trying to get to the meat inside.
Previously: "In a backyard adjacent to Bellevue Recreation Center (BRC). Saw two other individuals in neighboring backyards adjacent to BRC. In the past, have seen fruit on this and at least one of the other two walnut trees, including an eastern fox squirrel trying to get to the meat inside."
Upon further inspection, one of the other individuals that I thought was a walnut tree looks like something else.
