Description

It was definitely planted here, probably not native I’ve never seen it anywhere else, but I’ve seen this tree for the last three years. Leaves change to some crazy colours year-round.

Shrub standing 3'3'' tall. Stems red, leaves with red splotches. Flowers pinkish at base, but mostly white and smell slightly sweet. Soil moist and holding water but relatively sandy.

Description

One of two California bay trees in the grassland, located on treeline, surrounded by redwoods and oaks. The polar side of the grassland was entirely redwood populated. Soil was soft, not densely packed, moist, but undisturbed.
