Caught in home. 12 mm tip to tip. Dark banding on abdomen. Pale underside. Linear stripes on head, into front of wing covers. Tan uppers.

Description

Blue Damselfly at the children's fishing pond.Third segment on male over 50% blue. Tear-drop eye spotsFemales' third segment blue with thin black dorsal stripe Saw a few males connected to females. The males have a blue band under the eye and off-white color below that and blue mouth. The females have tan/off-white under the eyes and same color on mouth. One female had a black tent-shape blue just before end terminal segment.

Description

Growth appearance similar to a gall on several sage brush plants. Also present on some of the plants were the foam of spittle bugs. Could this be a late stage version of the spittle bug foam? Notice the apparently shed skins emerged on the surface.

Damselfly with med. width black dorsal stripe on blue thorax and single thin black lateral stripe w/in the upper third of thorax. Pear-shaped dorsal black marks on abdomen getting larger towards the terminal end. Blue hour glass on head/eyes (dorsal).
