Small female I observed perched on rocks, then as she foraged. She would stop and wave her tail as she foraged. She then did a shimmy burial in the loose rocks, with her back legs and tail still visible.

Solitary bird on a stock pond that had been dry because of the drought until this spring. I got the photo with him on the branches of a dead black willow tree along the tank dam first, then when I tried to get closer he flew to a fence post out in the water.
