Description

Field Notes - about 7mm jumper on eucalypt in riverside bushland. Looks a bit like Apricia bracteata but doesn't have much irridescence and possibly a bit hairy. Alternatively a Clynotis severus variant. It maybe has some of its frown lines.

Description

Field Notes - 2 different individuals 5 to 6mm close together in dry bushland. Close to the suspended egg sac but I don't know if it belongs to either spider. These spiders look very similar to a possible male we found that was ID' d as related to the Opisthoncus abnormis -tenuipes group

Description

Field Notes - 6 to 7mm Habronestes out in daylight ants everywhere. Eye pattern fits Baehr's H.pictus group and markings are closest to H. helenae although none we have seen before have had the red tinge to the dorsal patches. neat spider

Description

Field Notes - tiny spider that came home with a bucket of blackberries. it doesn't look like a juvenile of any of the families I am familiar with. Not sure if there is enough detail for an ID. Two spots on underside of abdomen and a central stripe and dark patch on rear of the topside. Eye area looks slightly raised.

Field Notes - Not sure I've got the location exact on the map but it's in Bargo SCA near Hilltop. I think this might be Philoponella pantherinus. it is a good match for appearance habitat and location with one in Whyte and Anderson. found in a depression on a cave roof in low light. grey egg sac. a series of almost parallel lines of web across the depression maybe 30cm wide. Spider 5 to 7mm body length.

Description

Field Notes - 5mm male long spinneret spider family Prodidomidae. feeding on flying ants attracted to lights at night. very fast and moved in leaps of up to 6 to 7 cm. very intricate pedipalps. It looks similar to Wydundra cooper on Arachne website but the pedipalps and where the spinnerets emerge on the abdomen not identical.
