For a lot of the night or early this morning and now day, 2 Bobcat kittens and mother have been on our roof. The kittens are running around playing on our roof. At 6 am (don't usually get up then) I gave up in trying to sleep any more and went to see if I could get any photos. I only got 3 photos of 1 kitten from inside the house through a window. I will try outside later if they are still there. I will post my photos when they get developed. Sorry no photos now. I don't own a digital camera.

Someone I know took this photo and she has given me permission to post this photo to see if any of you may know what this plant is. We haven't figured out what it is. At first we thought comfrey or mullein but the leaves are too smooth and flat with no ripple look to them.

This Bobcat photo was taken by my friend and neighbor who has given me permission to post it here on this website. This female Bobcat has been coming around this neighborhood since 2006 and she has had several kittens which use our roof as a playground. She is a very beautiful Bobcat. I always enjoy seeing her and her kittens! :-) This photo was really taken for the UA Wild Cat Research and Conservation Center as they are wanting Bobcat photos for identification and studying how well they are living in urban areas. I would say this female has done quite well.

Around 5 pm after it had poured rain a young Bobcat was on patio and then I saw the mother in the tree. The young Bobcat saw me through our back door window and turned and went back. I went and got my 35 mm camera and when I got back out it took some time but then saw mother laying down on the roof and I got one photo. I'm guessing they are both back on the roof. Then I changed to my 500mm zoom lens and put camera on a tripod. She had moved from the roof. Then I went to the front yard and found her laid down under an oleander in our front yard. I took one photo of her there but it was getting too dark and I don't have a flash. So, I left and came back without camera and then I saw mother and young one. I then kneeled down and next thing I know the young Bobcat is stalking me and coming my direction. So, I stood up and the stalking stopped. Then young one stayed still. I left. The mother is very skittish of people so it is very hard to get photos of her. I'm not sure the ones I took are good. We have had this mother come and go on our roof since 2006. Mostly we hear them on our roof at night. Boy, you can tell when there are baby Bobcats because it sounds like thunder on the roof. Usually it's only 2 kittens that we see. I now have earplugs to help me sleep at night. It's kind of funny hearing them play on the roof except when you are trying to sleep! :-)
