On the outskirt of a bog I found the Mycena haematopus growing on a log. The dominant species in the area were Mt. Hemlock, Noble Fir, and huckleberry.

I found this specimen growing on a rotted piece of wood which was on the ground below huckleberry bushes. The cap and stem are dark purple. The cap margin and annulus both had orange hairs.
