This acute lively, annual and perennial with long primary root and basal rosette, rarely reaches more than 40-50 cm.5 have alternate leaves lanceolate with a central rib, without a distinct petiole, pinnatipartidas with triangular lobes toothed margins and sometimes presents microvilli. The stem is always an extremely shortened state, which is why plants are called stemless. They are also able to produce an internode elongated inflorescence called a scape. Hollow stems of the inflorescence, when broken exudes a bitter milky juice. Hermaphroditic flowers of a golden yellow color that makes it easily identifiable. Corolla lígulas completed in five small teeth, blooms in spring to late summer. The fruit is an achene with a long beak and pappus.

Subfamily ArecoideaeObserver
marthagarzonDescription
They usually offer these yellow and red fruits, cooked in large pans. They are sandy and eaten with salt. Unbleached, are seen in large clusters, as the break off of the palm. It is said that in other countries its flour is used to make pies, jams and jellies.
The palm-some chontaduros pronounced chontaruros- grows in the subtropical jungle, one that is not flooded. They are typical of the slopes of Sugar Loaf, and Reventador Sumaco, mountains and volcanoes that become mysterious when hidden by the dense fog that made plants and rivers.

Bananas (Genus Musa)Observer
marthagarzonDescription
common names banana, banana, banana, banana, banana topocho and refer to a large number of herbaceous plants of the genus Musa, both horticulturally hybrids obtained from wild species Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana as genetically pure cultivars of these species. Originally classified by Linnaeus in 1753 as Musa paradisiaca, Musa type, species subsequent studies have led to the conclusion that the complex taxonomy of the genus includes numerous hybrids, varied genetic makeup, and has developed a strictly sui generis system classification to account for this variation. However, according to the rules of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, the Linnaean name has priority and is still used both in its original form and the amended Musa × paradisiaca, indicating that this is a hybrid-to generically denote these varieties.

The ciateáceas (scientific name Cyatheaceae) are a well known family of ferns in the order Cyatheales are also known as "tree ferns with scales" (because they have scaly rhizomes, petioles and sometimes leaves) to differentiate them from the dicksoniáceas, which are the "ferns arborescent hairy. "They are the highest of all ferns (also called "giant tree ferns") have stems reaching up to 20 meters high. According to the modern classification of Christenhusz et al. 20111 March 2 are monophyletic.
Traditionally it was grouped in the family 3 genera more or less well distributed arborescent habit (Alsophila, Cyathea and Nephelea now nested in Alsophila), but the molecular DNA analysis had to add other genres (see taxobox) to monophyletic family stays. This situation was complicated description of their general characteristics: while some genres are expected tree ferns with large fronds and stipes high (up to 20 meters), others as Hymenophyllopsis for example, are smaller and delicate-looking plants.

Females can be confusing, but the pattern of the area near the tail is distinctive and not shared by the superficially similar species. These birds often visit flowers for nectar trees and epiphytes, and also hunt insects.
El jacobino cuello blanco es un habitante de los bosques, por lo general se ve en una percha alta o justo por encima del dosel o Canopea. Es menos común en los niveles inferiores, excepto cerca de comederos para pájaros.
