Description

Riding bike north, saw 2 coyotes running in opposite direction on right side of road (~8 feet to my right). Didn't notice ear tags. They seemed on the small side - presumably juveniles.

Heard their toenails on the pavement. After they passed, I heard a splash. There's water on both sides of the road, so they presumably felt a bit trapped.

Adults would probably have hidden in the cover on the side of the road and I would have never seen them.
