What
Eurasian Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus)Observer
peatbogDescription
Taken after nightfall near Gura Haitii. At first, the bird was perched on a tree, could see its sparkling eye in the car's headlights from hundreds of meters away. When we approached the bird flew off and out of view, but a few seconds later it landed in the middle of the road, some 20 meters ahead of the car. No damage, it just sat there. I could get to about 5 meters of it before it took off for good. Temperature was around 7 degrees C, cloudy.
