This javelina was traveling in a pair. I could only get a quick . picture of one of them. This is on Boquillas Ranch.
We happened on this elk on our way to a project site. He wasn't far from the road and it seemed as if he was trying to hide in this tree. After explaining the situation to a local biologist he told me it was most likely Elaeophorosis, which causes blindness, antler deformation, and other ailments.
This badger was stumbled upon while it was digging out a new burrow. I returned to the burrow about 30 minutes later and it was filled in. This badger was set up in the middle of a prairie dog colony not far from a main dirt highway.
Found in 2006 on the USMC Barry M Goldwater bombing Range. Was captured given water and relocated away from Marine encampment.

One of the two pairs at "Thrasher Corner". Identifiable with its long tail, white under the bill. Dark eye, long bill and song.

Found at the Benchrest Range of the Ben Avery shooting Facility. i suspect it was feeding on the copious amouns of round-tail ground squirrels at the range.
